Starting a new school year is often stressful for families—both students and parents alike—but back to school 2020 promises to bring many new stressors to the mix. Because of COVID-19, returning to school will look different for every district and school across the country, creating new and unique challenges for families to address. This includes complications and health concerns related to the pandemic, as well as mental health challenges.

During this webinar, Dr. Meghan Walls will provide guidance on how to prepare for the upcoming school year, manage stress and anxiety about school and access mental health support for children and teens.

After the presentation, NAMI’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ken Duckworth, will moderate a Q&A session. This webinar will be recorded and posted to our NAMI Ask the Expert page along with a transcription within a week of the live webinar.

Meghan Walls, PsyD, is a pediatric psychologist in the Division of Behavioral Health at Nemours/Al duPont Hospital for Children and holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics with Sydney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
