The Catholic Church becomes the defender of the West and even the East. Western monasticism provides a key response to the increasing worldly entanglement of the Church. In time the five major centers will be reduced to just one, Rome.

The Renaissance Worldview | 1500-2000
A great age of learning and discovery is dawning. The Catholic Church is the main supporter and benefactor of great Artists, Mathematicians, Scientists, Musicians, writers and thinkers of this age. It will also begin a worldview that does not include God. A secular humanism will grow in the middle of this time of revolution of thought.

Early Catholic Influences
In the 1400, 1500, 1600’s missionaries, explorers and traders from France and Spain have an early impact on Catholic America. The French (Jesuits) have Quebec as their center and “New France” will stretch from Canada to New Orleans. The Spanish (Franciscans) centered in Mexico City will influence from California across the southwest to Texas.
