Year of Saint Joseph

On the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, March 19, Bishop Frank J. Dewane consecrated the Diocese of Venice to the care and protection of Saint Joseph in the context of the Coronavirus and announced a “Year of Saint Joseph” beginning March 19, 2020 through March 19, 2021. Saint Joseph is the Patron Saint of the Universal Church, fathers, workers and the sick and dying. It is most appropriate now that we take the opportunity to focus on the upcoming Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker on May 1 asking this humble Saint for his intercession to assist those facing the uncertainty of employment in the future. For the nine days beginning Thursday April 23, a Novena for the Intercession of Saint Joseph for the employed, underemployed and unemployed will be available on the Diocese of Venice website or by clicking HERE.
