A Message from Fr. Jay

Dear Friends,

Christianity as a religion, is a religion of revelation of absolute Truth.

The Truth is always understood and experienced by human beings partially due to human weakness. All through our lifetime, we are called to deepen our faith, to understand and experience the absolute Truth.

As Catholics, every year, starting with the celebration of Easter, we celebrate a few major revelations like Pentecost where the Holy Spirit is personified as a member of the Holy Trinity. Another revelation of Triune God that we celebrated last week on Trinity Sunday. This weekend, we celebrate the highest of all revelations, the Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ as Corpus Christi. During Christmas, we celebrate Jesus as ‘Immanuel-God with us’. The promise of Jesus ‘to be with us’ is thus fulfilled forever through the institution of the Holy Eucharist by Jesus! The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us through the Holy Eucharist!

The Catholic Faith calls for the celebration of God’s presence in us by realizing the real presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Jesus yearns to always be with us. Therefore, Corpus Christi is not just one more feast for mere festive celebration but to experience His real presence. Only our faith can take us to experience the real presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. That is why we this a mystery. To the first timers who would like to experience the real presence, I recommend visiting the St. Luke Adoration Chapel and remain in His presence. This experience will be overwhelming!

If you have not visited our Adoration Chapel yet, please plan to do it for one hour on significant days, such as, birthdays, anniversaries, or the promise to pray for others. If you are a young family with children, please encourage your child to also share in the experience of visiting the Blessed Sacrament.

Let us remember the command of Jesus: Remain in me as I remain in you. – John 15:4

God Bless,
Fr. Jay Raju
