Faith Formation K-5 and Middle School

We inspire young minds to engage with their Faith.

No matter how old or young, your faith is a journey to God that must be taken. If we stop for long on the way, we become stagnant and rigid. Not a great a place to hang out! Keep growing.

A letter to our Families

Dear Families,

We have started registration for the 2018-2019 Faith Formation & Middle School programs at St. John XXIII! Both the Faith Formation program, (formerly known as C.C.D.) and Middle School program are designed not only to help students prepare for the sacraments, but enables them to grow in their faith, spirituality and knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic Church as they mature into young adults. Even if your child has received the sacraments of Baptism, Communion and Confirmation, you should continue to enroll your child in either our Faith Formation or Middle School programs. Included in this packet are registration materials and schedule of classes for the 2018-2019 year. Please read through all materials carefully.

Faith Formation classes for Kindergarten through 5th grade
Classes meet on scheduled Wednesdays, you will have a choice of either the early session that runs from 4:15-5:30 PM, or a second session that runs from 6:00-7:15 PM. Our Kindergarten program is only offered during the early session.

Middle School grades 6-8
Classes are held on Scheduled Wednesdays from 6:00-7:15

Sacraments: Sacrament formation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is a two-year process that begins in grade one or above. We follow the Diocesan policy, which requires two years of formation starting with one full year of formal Catholic Religious Education through the parish or through a Diocesan Catholic School prior to the year that the child will receive the Sacraments. For more information please visit our website

We look forward to meeting you and your child/ren and being a part of their faith journey. If this is your child’s first year in our program, please include a copy of their baptismal certificate unless they were baptized at St. John XXIII. To properly plan and order curriculum, the registration deadline is August 12, 2018. After August 12, a late fee of $10.00 will be added. To ensure a spot for your child registrations must be received no later than August 31st. We ask if anyone is having trouble with registration fees to contact Chris Biel.

We begin our Faith Formation year with Mass on Sunday September 23rd at 11:15 followed by a family meeting in the Community Room. The first night of Faith Formation and Middle School will be Wednesday September 26th. Class location TBD depending on completion of our Parish Life Center. You will be notified prior to the start of the year about the location of classes.

In Christ’s Name,

Fr. Bob Tabbert | Pastor, St. John XXIII
Chris Biel | Director of Faith Formation
Kelly Evers | Director of Middle School
