A Message from Fr. Jay
Dear Friends,
This weekend, we celebrate Ascension Sunday. Jesus’ departure from earth is marked by the mission He entrusted to His followers.
During my childhood, as a middle school student, I ran relay races and often served as the second runner, receiving the baton and quickly passing it to the next teammate. The most critical moment was receiving the baton and handing it efficiently. Family life is much the same because when we have children, we pass on to them what has been entrusted to us. We share the same concern and hope as we watch them run their own race in life and in faith.
Jesus gives this mission in the Gospel: “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
We handle the baton that Jesus gave us in our daily lives, perhaps not perfectly, but faithfully. There is not much time left and no long distance left. Life is very short and we need to keep running in faith, not fixing eyes to heaven but fixing them on others. With the baton of faith in our hand and grace in our eyes, we can reach our destination wholeheartedly.
I want to thank all our seasonal residents for your presence and sharing your faith experiences with our community. I pray that you all have a wonderful summer at home. We did our best to efficiently manage the difficulties due to the Church renovation and the road project. When you return next season, you will be delighted to enter our renovated church and the newly paved road at Palomino crossing Daniels.
I also wish many faith-filled blessings to all our children with their summer camps and various projects!
God Bless,
Fr. Jay Raju
