A Message from Fr. Jay
Dear Friends,
On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, I will be naturalized as an American citizen. Yes, I am taking the oath as an American in this great nation! Becoming a citizen is not for convenience’s sake, instead it is a promise to all the values that we stand for, believe and witness. Beginning with our Founding Fathers, this extraordinary nation is considerably valued for freedom, democracy and human dignity. I am delighted and excited to become part of the American family! God bless America!
This weekend, we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany! This feast ensures the inclusive citizenship of the Kingdom of God that is extended to everyone! The wise men from all sides of the earth traveled to see the newborn child and adore Him. This indicated to the entire world that we are all welcome to be part of His Kingdom! Right from the beginning, Jesus expanded the horizon of His kingdom and its citizenship for everyone!
We are called to follow in the footprints of the Magi and seek to find the Son of God. Remember the words of Jesus that He would later say in His ministry, ‘seek and you will find’.
In the first reading, the prophet Isaiah says,…”you shall be radiant at what you see’. In the second reading, Paul assures what Jesus revealed through his Epiphany, that the Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and co-partners in the promise of Jesus Christ through the gospel.
As Christians, let us diligently search for the newborn child in everyone! Let our life and ministry bring treasures of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the greater glory of the Lord.
Last week, we concluded the Jubilee year at our parish. I am thankful to all who served as disciples under the different ministries and assisted the visiting pilgrims to our church pilgrim site.
Starting this weekend, you will notice the stewardship prayer in the missalette. This prayer is a powerful invocation that reinforces our spiritual commitment to the Lord and our church community. Join us as we recite this prayer together every Sunday before Mass.
May God bless you all,
Fr. Jay Raju
