A Message from Fr. Jay
Dear Friends,
The biggest miracle of human history is the Resurrection of Jesus! In the movie “Risen”, that premiered in 2016, there is a scene regarding a conversation about the Resurrection of Jesus among Pontius Pilate and the Jewish priests. Pilate said, “Will the people believe it? (that Jesus is not dead but Resurrected and alive)”. One of the priests replied, “the weak will”.
Yes. We as Christians, are often branded as weak for proclaiming the Truth. The truth is revealed by God but understood only by some and only partially understood. Only the weak try to seek the truth even though not totally understanding it because of the limitations of our rationality. Whether it be the birth of Jesus or the Resurrection of Jesus, only a few had the blessing to see, hear and experience it. Those few who experienced the Truth were simple people, seeking the Messiah through the eyes of love. Mary Magdalene was one such person who was able to see Jesus because of her unconditional love for Him. She was the first evangelist of the Resurrected Messiah.
In our current world surrounded with the culture of death, the Resurrection of Jesus once again promises the culture of life. The Resurrected Christ calls us to continue to seek His love. We are sure to find Him! Happy Easter!
I admire all your efforts and spiritual exercises to encounter Jesus during the Lenten season – many of which I was blessed to physically be a part of! It was a graceful journey. Let our journey continue to seek and seed the faith for the future generations with our unconditional love. Truth triumphs always!
I also wanted to share with you the good news that our parish has recently partnered with “Hallow App”, which is a great Catholic App to engage ourselves actively in prayer life and communication through many ways. We could start with the Easter Challenges that you find in the app. These details you will find after installing the app with the help of the information found in our bulletin.
Happy Easter! Many blessings to all in your family.
God Bless,
Fr. Jay Raju
