Living Legacy Program

The Living Legacy Program at St. John XXIII Catholic Church welcomes your interest in making a lifetime memorial to our Parish. There are several opportunities to memorialize a sacred item in the Church as a Living Legacy. This may be done in memory of a living or deceased loved one. Please review the list of memorials in our Living Legacy information packet and contact our Parish Office for an appointment to review these items. We also welcome your suggestions!

70½ IRA Charitable Distribution

Good news for taxpayers over the age of 70½. Congress has voted to make permanent the exclusion from income of up to $100,000 per person, per year, for Individual Retirement Account (IRA) distributions which are given directly to charities. This law will end the uncertainty which has existed for the past several years when taxpayers were trying to decide whether to direct their IRA distributions to charity.

Catholic Faith Appeal

When you entrust your gift of treasure to the Catholic Faith Appeal, all who work for the Diocese of Venice in Florida, have a responsibility to ensure that these gifts bring the hope, peace, and love of Christ to all. Making a gift is easy!

Visit the Diocesan website here for more information. The Catholic Faith Appeal is announced annually, but the practice of giving can happen all year.

St. Patrick’s Patio Garden Engraved Paver

On the northern side of our Church building, just outside of the Narthex, lies our St. Patrick’s Patio Garden. This is quite possibly the most visible area in which to place a memorial. Picnics, concerts and other sundry special events are held here, and you have the opportunity to show thousands of people your love for our Parish. Please contact the Parish Office for pricing and engraving information.

Memorial Garden Plots

Our Memorial Garden is one of the most reverent burial options to help you memorialize the lives of your loved ones for years to come. Having a permanent place to visit is an essential element to helping family and friends grieve. Many people don’t know this, but Cremation is an approved Catholic option when planning end of life arrangements. Contact the Parish Office to learn about pricing and reservation options.

Major Gifts

Your faith and your Church have been with you from the start. Most often, when we think of making a gift to the Church, we think of our weekly offertory, however, prayerfully consider leaving our Parish in your will in the form of:

Securities or Closely-Held Stock OR Personal Property OR Real Estate or Gifts In-Kind OR Charitable Trusts

Please call the Parish Office to set an appointment and determine how you can leave a lasting legacy at St. John XXIII 239-561-2245.

Catholic Community Foundation

We help donors create lasting Catholic Legacies by working with them to provide long-term support and sustainability to the Catholic entities and programs about which they care most.
