A Message from Fr. Jay
Dear Friends,
Now is the acceptable time: we begin our Holy Week journey. Each day of Holy Week has unique importance.
Palm Sunday leads us to reflect how Jesus embraced humanity with humility over his glorious status as Son of God.
Tuesday, March 31 Bishop J. Frank Dewane will celebrate the Chrism Mass at St. Leo’s Church, Bonita Springs with all the Priests of our diocese where they renew their vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience.
Holy Thursday we celebrate the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Priesthood. Please remember me and our priests in your prayers that we serve the Lord and our community with humility.
Good Friday we reflect deeply on the passion of Christ reflecting His servant leadership and how Jesus took upon Himself the humiliation of humans.
Holy Saturday we celebrate the Paschal Vigil Mass of Holy Easter. There are 30 new Catholics being received into our church. The joy of Easter springs out from the newly baptized, as a symbol of continuing LIFE.
Easter Sunday we celebrate the Life that Jesus promised. With His resurrection, He brought LIFE back.
The key aspects that connect all the themes of Holy Week are humility and service. The more we humble ourselves, the more we are drawn to service.
We are called to be the heralds of His Good News. Let the resurrection of Jesus inspire us! I wish all of you a blessed and meaningful Holy Week!
God Bless,
Fr. Jay Raju
